Challenging the "old boys' club" culture in medicine: Daphne Romney's independent report into sexism and harassment at the BMA.
Online: Please register for joining details.
The British Medical Association (BMA) commissioned Daphne Romney QC to produce a review after two doctors alleged sexism and sexual harassment by elected members of the BMA.
The independent report made recommendations to address gender bias and wider harassment in the BMA and sought to ‘focus attention within the BMA on the damaging elements of the discriminatory culture’. In this talk, Daphne Romney will share her findings and challenge us to learn from her work to focus our attention to prevent and mitigate bullying and harassment in the workplace. This talk is hosted by the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences and chaired by Professor Catherine Pope as part of our Better Workplace activity.
