Policy engagement in ethical innovation
How does research inform policy? How has this pipeline worked in the past, and how can we improve it? How can we overcome gaps between research and policy?
The Responsible Technology Institute has the pleasure of welcoming Lord Tim Clement-Jones, Co-Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Artificial Intelligence, to speak on his engagement with academia as a policymaker and thought leader in the technology and legal fields. Professor Marina Jirotka, Professor of Human Centred Computing at the University of Oxford, and Professor Alan Winfield, Professor of Robot Ethics at UWE Bristol, will speak to their experiences in bringing research to policymakers and the wider public, in the realm of both practical research and policy standards. This talk will provide insight for researchers and doctoral students, as well as those interested in the policy-academic relationship. After the talks, participants will have the opportunity to meet with the speakers and members of the Responsible Technology Institute over refreshments.
