The Research-Practice-Policy Triad: Lessons and Challenges from an Early Childhood Global Initiative
The Child Development and Learning (CDL) research group is delighted to invite participation in this workshop. We have a limited number of places available for participants from departments across the University.

Predicated on findings that attested to the poor quality of early childhood services in many low- and middle-income countries, an inventive, comprehensive, effort was launched in 40 counties that worked to improve community engagement, knowledge transfer, pedagogical quality, and accountability efforts. Sponsored by UNICEF, the effort focused on the development and implementation of early learning and development standards in African, Southeast Asian, Pacific Island, and post-soviet countries. This presentation will focus on criteria that must be considered when designing and implementing a global strategy in diverse cultural, political, economic, and policy contexts. It will present accomplishments, challenges, and lessons for consideration when international entities seek to use research to advance practice and policy.
