Investigating the various experiences of minorities in the climate justice movement, this talk presents a racialized dimension to literature concerning youth advocacy. The conducted qualitative research is based on in-depth interviews with youth climate activists across the UK. Its findings suggest that the politicization of the climate crisis positions “youthful agents” at its forefront, taking climate-oriented governance into their own hands. Also, the talk sheds light on the need for the movement to be more intersectional in its objectives and initiatives through highlighting the very different experiences of interviewed activists.
