Rift Valley Fever virus and innate immunity evasion: insights from the first structure of an NSs protein.
Rift Valley Fever virus (RVFV) is a clinically important zoonotic arbovirus, causing frequent epidemics in humans and ruminants in Sub-Saharan Africa. The main virulence factor of the virus is an interferon antagonist protein NSs. Our structural studies on NSs and its self-association provide new insight into its role in RVFV pathogenesis.
