Putting Africa & Youth in the Spotlight: Ugo Mozie Fashion Star
Ugo Mozie is a leading force in fashion and entertainment, particularly in terms of showcasing Africa and the potential of African youth. He is a regular fixture at the world’s most prominent fashion weeks. Born in East Nigeria, he is now based in Los Angeles and is the embodiment of a successful African born international chief executive who has stayed with his roots and wants to put Africa and young people in the spotlight and showcase the huge potential. His goal is to reinvigorate Fashion and Entertainment industries with products that evoke African Heritage and to use his influence to bring more visibility to Africa and Africa’s striving industries and to engage African youth.

Ugo debuted his fashion line Aston Mozie in 2009 at the age of 18. Shortly after, he was appointed to be fashion editor in Paris at Ghubar. His next work experience was Head PR Director at famous fashion house Vivienne Westwood, US. By 2015, he released his luxury hat collection Bailey X Ugo Mozie which has been seen on celebrities all over the world spearing a global trend. With 9+ years experience, Mozie has grown his passion from fashion to creating culturally significant products that evoke his African Heritage. He has expertise in making his clients feel authentic when part of Mozie Designs. From the runway and red carpet to television and print, Ugo’s clientele that he has collaborated with and styled for spans from Justin Bieber, Beyonce, and Celine Dion to Floyd Mayweather, Mary J. Blige, Tinie Tempah, P Diddy, Chris Brown, J Balvin, Travis Scott and many other influential tastemakers. He recently launched his first fragrance collection titled Mosaic which is made and inspired by the African diaspora. Mosaic seeks to create a luxury product out of Africa that can stand alongside global luxury brands while creating jobs for local economies. Currently, he is working to develop and structure the fashion and entertainment industry around the world. His most recent venture, WANA ORG (We Are New Africa) is a nonprofit organization that drives to educate, empower and inspire youth. He is an excellent public speaker and wants to be the voice of hope for the poor, the minorities, and the youth.
