Climate and Health Forums: Disease Impacts
In Michaelmas Term 2021 (October 2021) a series of Climate and Health Forums will bring together researchers for discussion under three broad thematic areas:

1. Disease Impacts: 9.30-11am Mon 18th October
2. Healthcare System Impacts: 9-11am Mon 25th October
3. Climatic Extremes Impacts: 9-11am Wed 20th or 27th October, tbc

Starting on Monday 18th October, the first seminar is “Disease Impacts”, exploring key issues such as epidemiology, nutrition, sanitation, NCDs and mental health. The panel chair is Dr Sophie Yacoub, Dengue Research Group lead at OUCRU-Vietnam, and panel members include Philip Stier (Physics), Katrina Charles (SoGE), Peter Scarborough (NDPH), Mike Rayner (WHO CC Population Approaches for NCD Prevention), and Marc Choisy (OUCRU, Vietnam).

These forums will bring together researchers interested in the intersection of climate change and health, identify key areas of strength and future work, and facilitate novel collaborations and strengthening existing ones, especially in preparation for the new Climate and Health Pump-Priming Funding round currently open.
