Global Health 2050 — findings of The Lancet Commission on Investing in Health
Professor Jamison was trained in engineering at Stanford University and in economics at Harvard where he took his PhD under Kenneth Arrow. His career has been in academia and at the World Bank. He is a member of the National Academy of Medicine of the US National Academies of Science, Engineering and Medicine.

The Lancet established a commission to examine, from an economics perspective, the value of investing in health and where the highest value investments in disease control and in health systems might lie. Chaired by former US Treasury Secretary Larry Summers, the commission published its third report, Global Health 2050, in The Lancet in October 2024. This seminar will overview GH 2050’s findings on trends in health globally and summarize its 7 key messages for policy.
