Professor Zohar Maor is a senior lecturer at the department of history, Bar-Ilan University, and a visiting scholar at the Oxford Centre for Hebrew and Jewish Studies. His main fields of interest are Central European intellectual history, German-Jewish intellectuals, secularization and interreligious study. His book A new Secret Doctrine: Spirituality, Creativity and Nationalism in the Prague Circle; in the beginning of the Twentieth Century (Shazar Center, 2010, Hebrew), outlines the mystical orientation of Franz Kafka and his circle. He is currently working on a book on the theological concept of secularization in interwar Germany.
