‘China and Angola: All weather friendship or strategic partnership?’
Relations between China and Angola have for a long time been seen as a model for Africa’s relations with this global power. But was this really the case? This presentation analyses the extent to which China-Angola relations reflected State-to-State strategic imperatives, or were in fact “privatised”, as well as assessing their real impacts in Angola. The paper will also gauge the evolution of this relationship to the present day situation.
Rui Verde holds a PhD in Law from the University of Newcastle, UK.
