Discussion on Gender Equality at Oxford
Previous studies of infectious disease outbreaks show that women are more adversely affected than men by the social and economic effects that an outbreak brings. As we move through into the post-peak phase of the COVID-19 pandemic, research is starting to emerge on the differential impact on female academics.
Following on from last year’s discussion on how we might accelerate the pace of change for gender equality at Oxford, this year’s panel will look at the impact of the pandemic on female academics, and if there is a difference by research field. The panel will also give an update on the input gathered following last year’s meeting.
You are invited to join the discussion with Professor Louise Richardson, Vice-Chancellor, Professor Anne Trefethen, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for People & Gardens, Libraries and Museums, Professor Sarah Gilbert, Professor of Vaccinology, Professor Nandini Gooptu, Associate Professor of South Asian Studies and Professor Gascia Ouzounian, Associate Professor of Music.
This in-person event will take place at Somerville College and a recording will be available afterwards if you are unable to make it.
