The Oxford Climate Society is hosting a talk and networking event with the major non-profit environmental law-organization Client Earth on Monday of 6th week at 7.15PM. We will be hearing from James Thornton, the founding CEO of Client Earth.
James is an extremely successful environmental lawyer and in 2016 was named one of the 100 top lawyers in the UK by The Lawyer. He founded Client Earth in 2007 after a successful career in New York, where he also founded Citizens’ Enforcement Project. He is also the author of an environmental legal thriller, Immediate Harm and is a Conservation Fellow of the Zoological Society of London.
Client Earth was Europe’s first public interest environmental law organization. It now operates globally and uses advocacy, litigation and scientific research to address the environmental issues such as biodiversity loss and climate change. James will be talking to us about the great work that Client Earth does and will be providing insight and advice for those interested in a career in environmental law.
The event will be held in the Oxford Hub events space (first door on the left, up the stairs at Turl Street Kitchen), starting at 7.15 pm.
