Multiscale and multiomic kidney profiling to define glomerular disease signatures

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is common, with a heavy health and economic burden, and prevalence is rising globally. Limited understanding of the cellular basis of many glomerular kidney diseases is a major barrier to the development of targeted, more effective treatments. To address this, our group seeks to transform renal pathology, using spatial and single cell transcriptomics and proteomics in renal biopsy tissue to define patterns of disease, in order to better stratify patients, predict treatment response and prioritise new therapeutic targets, for validation in model systems. Our work includes interdisciplinary collaborations to develop new methods to leverage high quality information from high resolution spatial data.
