Creative Writing Seminar: Learned in Translation, with Jane Draycott
The first of the 2023-24 Kellogg Centre for Creative Writing seminar series is a sequence of readings and reflections on how the process of poetic translation can be not only a primary project of advocacy, but also an act of vital apprenticeship and refreshment to creative impetus.

Jane Draycott’s latest collection The Kingdom follows seven earlier publications including The Occupant, Over (T S Eliot Prize shortlist), Prince Rupert’s Drop (Forward Prize shortlist), and her award-winning translation of the 14th-century dream-vision Pearl. Her latest book of translations is Storms Under the Skin: Selected Poems of Henri Michaux (1927-1954), from Two Rivers Press (PBS Recommendation). She is a recipient of a Society of Authors Cholmondeley Award 2023 and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature.

Refreshments will be served from 5pm; the seminar will begin at 5.30pm.

All are welcome and no booking are necessary.
