How does a nation overcome historical oppression? The issue of how to reconcile historical injustice has been an enduring issue for nation-states around the world. From questions surrounding how to quantify appropriate reparative claims to those concerning whether we should care about historical injustice for the sake of the dead or the living, the issue of how to reconcile the past in International Relations remains heavily contested. Join us for a discussion on these issues with Professor Daniel Butt, whose work focuses on reparative claims for both slavery and post-colonial atrocities.
