Neuroimmune interactions in eosinophilic asthma
Dr. Drake is a pulmonary intensivist and Principal Investigator whose research focuses on the role of inflammation and airway nerves in the development of asthma and chronic cough. His research pairs functional studies of airway physiology with advanced 3-dimensional confocal imaging to uncover new mechanisms driving airway hyperresponsiveness. In his forthcoming talk, Dr. Drake will highlight recent findings on the role of eosinophils in airway sensory nerve remodeling in type 2 asthma and discuss the influence of maternal asthma on fetal lung development and asthma risk.
