Tissue T cells: Life in Lockdown in Liver and Lung
In person only
My lab focuses on human tissue-resident T cells and their interactions in order to harness them for novel immunotherapeutic approaches, in particular pan-coronavirus prophylactic vaccines and therapeutic vaccines for hepatitis B and hepatocellular carcinoma. I will discuss our recent work on stromal-mediated instruction of liver-resident T cells by myeloid cells (Pallett et al, Nature 2023). I will also show data on liver-resident NK cell regulation of hepatitis B-specific T cells and immunotherapeutic strategies to overcome this (Diniz et al, Sci Trans Med 2023 and unpublished).
