Peter Neumann is Professor of Security Studies at the Department of War Studies, King’s College London. He also founded the International Centre for the Study of Radicalisation and until recently, he also served as the OSCE’s Special Representative on Countering Violent Radicalisation. Professor Neumann has authored or co-authored seven books on terrorism and counterterrorism, including his most recent entitled ‘Bluster: Donald Trump’s War on Terrorism.’ Professor Neumann has engaged far beyond the academic world, giving evidence to policy-makers before a full ministerial session of the UN Security Council, as well as committees of the US Congress, the British House of Commons, the Canadian House of Commons, and the European Parliament. Outside of this he has also served as an expert witness in terrorism cases for the UK’s Crown Prosecution Service, Northern Ireland’s Public Prosecution Service, and Scotland’s Crown Office. He holds an MA in Political Science from the Free University of Berlin and a PhD in War Studies from King’s College London. Before becoming a professor, Peter Neumann worked as a radio journalist in Germany.
