Statistical learning for data science: Part 1: Basic techniques using R
Statistical and machine learning techniques are taking an ever increasing role both in academia and industry. Prominent examples in academia include genetics, astronomy and social sciences.
This course introduces important topics such as regression analysis, classification and regularisation.
This course is a collaboration between the Nuffield Department of Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Sciences, the Research Software Developers Network and the ARC.
Format: 2 day course, presentation with practical exercises. Important: Please note that this course requires the use of your own laptop which needs to be able to connect to the University network. The free Statistical Software R, as well as RStudio should be installed in advance (available on Windows/Linux/Mac).
