The Coupled Model Intercomparison Project (CMIP) - results from CMIP6
Cath leads a team of scientists working to understand and improve model simulations of present day and future climate including understanding climate feedbacks and measures of climate sensitivity and response. She has over 30 years experience in understanding climate change, climate feedbacks and model development and has published over 50 peer-reviewed articles including articles in Nature and Science. She is the PI on the £3M NERC/DFID funded Future Climate for Africa Project, IMPALA and has been Theme and Delivery Leader for numerous projects including ‘Global scale change in the climate system’ within the 2018-2021 Hadley Centre Climate Programme HCCP funded by UK Government Departments BEIS and DEFRA and work package lead of the H2020 PRIMAVERA project. She is Co-chair of the WCRP Working Group on Coupled Models (WGCM) which co-ordinates the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project (CMIP) and has been involved in all 5 IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) reports including as lead author of on the 3rd assessment report.
