Research Forum: Digital History in Oxford

What is digital history? How can the application of digital technology transform historical research? This panel will draw lessons from a range of current projects in Oxford. The topics include the Republic of Letters, 1550-1750; the decoration of musical instruments in the Ashmolean’s collections; the rise of the fiscal-military state in early modern Europe; and the origins of the Good Friday Agreement.

Each speaker will talk for no more than 5 minutes on their digital history project, before we open up to the floor for questions and discussion.

A sandwich lunch will be provided, so please RSVP by 7 November to rf@history.ox.ac.uk, with any dietary requirements.
