This event is Seminar 3 in DSPI’s Hilary Term Seminar Series.
In this talk Professor Picot will present the findings from a five-year research project he just concluded. The project centred on the politics of statutory minimum wages, but accounted also for closely related policies, in particular regulation of collective bargaining and in-work benefits. Professor Picot will address the normative justification of minimum wages, the variation of low-wage policies across developed countries, and the politics and reasons behind that variation.
