GOTO: The Future Of Work

GOTO (Global Opportunities and Threats: Oxford) is an action-oriented problem-solving community geared towards addressing some of the most complex issues that face the world today. Each year students and alumni connect with faculty from across the University of Oxford and their research via an online platform to discuss, debate, and drive new business ideas that address global issues.

The GOTO topic for the coming academic year will be The Future Of Work. Through a variety of different mediums GOTO will explore:

(a) The key drivers of changes to work

(b) What is changing at work in terms of human capital (future roles, skills, behaviour and knowledge requirements), technological capital (machine capability and information), social capital (relationships, networks and shared values) and organisational capital (systems, routines, processes and structures)

(c) The implications for economies, companies and individuals. The challenge to those participating in GOTO is to apply the materials and guidance to a specific context and use core leadership skills to create a compelling vision of a positive work future and strategies for making it a reality (especially in the case of degree programmes, such as MBA and EMBA).

The aim of this event is to:

Introduce the topic of The Future of Work
Introduce the revamped GOTO format
Encourage students to participate as alumni
