Cannabidiol as a treatment for acute cannabis intoxication in schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder
Cannabidiol is being investigated as a novel treatment for both psychosis and cannabis use disorder. There is also evidence from experimental studies in healthy volunteers that is can reduce the acute adverse effects of cannabis intoxication. In this talk, Dr Chesney will describe a randomised placebo controlled trial investigating if a large oral dose of CBD can reduce the adverse effects of vaporised cannabis in individuals with schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder.
