Pulmonary dendritic cells (DC) have evolved to defend the lung against external assaults (virus, bacteria, etc.) that enter the lungs via the airways. Lung metastasis represents something different – an internal assault on the lungs through the vasculature. In this talk, Dr. Headley will present on his recent work using high dimensional flow cytometry and cutting edge microscopy to uncover the mechanisms by which DC defend the lung from vascular insult.
