Sex disparities in autoimmune disease
Many autoimmune diseases have different incidence rates, clinical course and overall outcomes in men and women, but the underlying reason remains obscure. In this talk I will discuss what little we know about this topic, what can be gleaned from genetic, functional and clinical studies of these diseases, and what I believe we will have to do to solve this conundrum.
