This workshop is primarily aimed at those interested in learning more about how to perform a systematic review and the basic principles of meta-analysis. This workshop include several short fire presentations covering:

* what is a systematic review and why do we need them * what is the process of conducting a systematic review * the basic steps in performing meta-analysis * when is it appropriate, and not appropriate, to perform a meta-analysis * how to interpret forest plots

There will also be a small group practical session aimed at developing a well-defined question for a systematic review. It will focus on defining the question and the inclusion criteria for a systematic review using the PICOS approach (participants, interventions, comparator, outcomes and type of study).
