Abstract: From 2013 to 2015, over 11,000 people across West Africa lost their lives to the deadliest outbreak of the Ebola virus in history. The human and political consequences were devastating and only now being understood.

Professor Nicole Zitzmann, the Head of the Antiviral Research Unit and Director of the Oxford Glycobiology Institute, who ran an Ebola Testing Lab in Sierra Leone during the outbreak
Dr Kerrie Thornhill, the deputy director of International Gender Studies at LMH, who researches issues of gender and will speak about the effects of the outbreak on Female Genital Cutting (FGC/FGM)
