Introduction to Lookdown Processes
This talk is a quick introduction to Lookdown Processes and how they can be used (in particular with reference to population models). Lookdown models can be a very useful tool when analysing population models and they provide an interesting and different way of viewing biological problems. I will be basing this talk mainly on the paper Kurtz Rodriguez 2011 which provides a good introduction to the Lookdown peocesses and some motivating examples. Then, if time permits, I will discuss the main difficulties involved when using these processes and how these Lookdown processes can be used when considering a changing environment and the benefits of such a technique.
