This afternoon workshop sets out to explore how various kinds of cultural production, from literary writing to visual art, responds to the divided city in the twenty-first century, asking how they might also allow us to think through more inclusive and desegregated urban futures. After lunch (12.30pm) there will be a panel of three short papers (2pm), followed by an artist’s talk from zine creator Laura Oldfield Ford (4pm), and then a keynote lecture from urban theorist Stephen Graham (5.15pm). All are welcome from across the disciplines to attend all or part of the workshop.
This free workshop includes a sandwich lunch, courtesy of TORCH’s Race & Resistance Programme, and will conclude with a wine reception.
