Rethinking Conflict, Building Peace
Following the success of the COVID Conversations series earlier this year, a series of online Innovation Conversations are being livestreamed throughout September 2020, as part of the celebrations of this year’s Vice-Chancellor’s Innovation Awards.
This series will offer the chance to hear more from each of the category winners, as well as to ask questions about their award-winning research, before culminating in a panel discussion event hosted by Professor Chas Bountra, Pro Vice-Chancellor for Innovation, on 7 October 2020.
The series begins at 3.00pm on Friday 4 September 2020 with Early Career winner, Dr Annette Idler. She will be joined by Juan Manuel Santos, former President of Colombia, recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize and Visiting Professor, to discuss Rethinking Conflict, Building Peace.
Dr Idler leads an interdisciplinary 18-person team that brings together ethnographic fieldwork with quantitative analysis, complexity science, visualisation techniques, visual arts and historical tracing to provide evidence-based guidance on the directions and pace of change in conflict.
