Molecular Underpinnings of Amniote Craniofacial Diversity

Bio:
Dr. Thomas Sanger is an associate professor at Loyola University Chicago. His lab uses a combination of field, quantitative, and molecular tools to understand morphological diversity of vertebrates. Dr. Sanger has been a leader in field of reptile embryology and development.

Abstract:
The vertebrate skull has evolved remarkable diversity in size, shape, and form. Herein, I will show you how emerging reptilian models of developmental biology are adding new insights into our understanding of craniofacial diversity. I will also show you how global warming mediated thermal stress is disrupting normal embryonic development of the reptilian brain and face.
