Short bio:
Professor Paul Leeson is a Cardiologist and Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Oxford and Head of the Oxford Cardiovascular Clinical Research Facility. His research group has pioneered the use of imaging and artificial intelligence within cardiology, with innovations developed by the group, particularly in the field of echocardiography, now in use in hospitals.
Abstract:
Advances in image processing with artificial intelligence have generated exciting new ways to work with medical images both within research and clinical practice. This talk will discuss some particular use examples within cardiology including how computational modelling can help understand early cardiac development, diagnose cardiac diseases and uncover new ways to think about hypertension.
