Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Kick-Off Event
Prizes to be won in the University 3MT competition
An 80,000 word thesis would take 9 hours to present; would you be able to explain yours in just 3 minutes with the aid of a single slide? We’re inviting DPhil students to do just that. The 3MT challenges doctoral candidates to present a compelling spoken presentation on their research topic and its significance in just three minutes to a non-specialist audience. You can read about it here: www.ox.ac.uk/students/three-minute-thesis-competition.

Launch event
Would you like to find out more? If so, come along to our 3MT launch event, which will give you all the information and guidance you need to get started on putting together an entry into the competition. You will hear from a senior academic on the virtues of taking part in the competition and how it can help you learn to publicise your research better, and also from previous 3MT entrants on their experiences and their top tips for new competitors, followed by Q&A.
