Abstract:
Hyperpoalrised MRI is a new, non-invasive, technique to monitor dynamic metabolism of 13C labelled tracers – allowing us to spatially map the activity of key metabolic pathways (for example mitochondrial metabolism or lactate formation) throughout the body.
Currently, there are less than 10 sites world-wide that can do clinical studies with this technology, and Oxford is equipped with both preclinical and clinical equipment to take a truly translation approach.
James is currently leading the pre-clinical and clinical brain studies at Oxford, and will give an overview of the exciting opportunities available for researchers to collaborate across the University.
