This talk explores energy justice in Belgium, particularly in the Walloon region, through an analysis of solar PV policy and its impact on energy poverty among low-income households. Integrating principles of distributional, recognition, and procedural justice, the study seeks to design equitable public policies that ensure fair access to photovoltaic energy. By reviewing global PV policies and their outcomes in countries like Australia, China, the United States, and Italy, the research provides a comparative framework to understand how different approaches have influenced renewable energy adoption and addressed socio-economic disparities. This research highlights the multidimensional nature of energy poverty and the complexities within Belgium’s decentralized governance.
