Experts from the Oxford Precision Psychiatry Lab (OxPPL), led by Professor Andrea Cipriani, will outline the most up-to-date knowledge and methods in the field, and how to publish them. This online course is specifically designed for psychiatrists, psychologists, mental health professionals, mental health pharmacists and neuroscientists with an interest in evidence synthesis and evidence-based practice, although it is open to all.
The curriculum encompasses the production process of a systematic review from start – review question and protocol – to finish – reporting, dissemination, and critical appraisal – and beyond – publishing. The topics covered will include: Protocol, Search strategy, Basic concepts on statistical analysis of RCTs, Study selection, Risk of bias, Reporting of results (PRISMA guidelines), Performing meta-analysis (theory and practice of Review Manager, R and STATA), Paper submissions, Practical project presentations
