Prof Felix Driver on Biography and Geography
Location: Halford Mackinder Lecture Theatre
This talk will consider the biographical turn in recent writing about the making of geographical knowledge. Using examples from my research on the history of the Geographical Magazine, including its editors, writers and photographers, Professor Driver will explore the relationship between agency, authorship and practices in geographical knowledge-making in what is sure to be a fascinating talk.
Felix Driver is an historical geographer who has undertaken collections-based research and public engagement in the arts and humanities, including a series of projects in partnership with museums and visual artists. He is currently Principal Investigator of a major AHRC project on the mobility of biocultural collections in collaboration with the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.
