Enterprising Women
Open to any interested budding entrepreneurs, from any division.
Dr Denise Xifara is co-founder of Nupinion, a startup dedicated to improving how people engage with news. Denise is passionate about combining machine learning and big data to gain insight from global news content. In this talk she will narrate her journey from her DPhil in statistical genetics at Oxford to entrepreneurship in a radically different field, covering the challenges involved, common pitfalls as well as opportunities. Borrowing from her own experiences and from well established methods for innovation, the talk promises to offer practical advice on how anyone regardless of background can start building their own business.
Following Denise’s talk, we will introduce some other key players from across the Oxford ecosystem who can support you in developing your ideas and skills as a budding entrepreneur and offer you the chance over lunch to network and also to sign up for short consultation sessions with these players.
