Nada is a second year DPhil student in the NDWRH department, carrying out her research in the group of Prof. Wells. She previously completed the MSc course in Clinical Embryology and gained experience in the field of preimplantation genetics when she worked as a member of the clinical PGD/PGS team in Reprogenetics UK. Her research interests include the development of new methodologies for genetic testing of human embryos, originating from the utilisation of innovative modern technologies. Her talk will provide an overview of the new wave of genetic technologies, and will focus on the germ-line genome editing as a tool to study human embryogenesis as well as to correct genetic disease, the prospect of which is shifting the field away from the diagnosis and towards the cure.
