From Wild Cats to Women’s Heath: A Holistic Conservation Approach in East Africa
Wild cat conservation may seem a far cry from issues to do with women’s health. But in fact, assisting with core community needs such as healthcare, education and veterinary care have proved central to developing effective lion conservation programmes in East Africa. Here, Professor Amy Dickman, Joint CEO of Lion Landscapes, will talk about the complexity of big cat conservation, especially outside protected areas, and show how women have played a vital role in developing initiatives to improve community prospects and build a more secure future for lions and other wildlife
