Science, uncertainty and the joy of being wrong
Interactive session with Prof. Ottoline Leyser, Regius Professor of Botany at the University of Cambridge, Chief Executive Officer of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) and the Sainsbury Laboratory.

Popular conceptions of science and scientists can discourage people from contributing to science and can make being a scientist more stressful. In contrast to popular stereotypes, science typically benefits from collaborative open-minded problem solving, which is appealing to many and supports positive working environments. It is therefore important that we both incentivise and raise the profile of this approach to science.
