Aim
To provide an introduction to the design, conduct, analysis and reporting of a randomised controlled trial (RCT)
Course objectives
* To explain why RCTs are needed
* To introduce the principles of RCT design, including basic trial design (including sample size calculations and statistical analyses)
* To review the practical implications of running a trial
* To give an overview of how to report and critique an RCT

Target audience: University of Oxford DPhil students, researchers and other staff members working in trial-related roles (e.g. trial co-ordinators) seeking an introduction to RCTs
