Christian-Muslim Relations in Türkiye and the Ottoman Empire
A seminar series exploring a part of the world which for centuries has been an important meeting point of civilizations and witnessed Christian-Muslim relations of widely differing kinds. The Ottoman Empire was a multi-religious area, extending well beyond the borders of modern Türkiye/Turkey. This series will look at past and present, and relations driven by a complex blend of scriptures, politics, sometimes even piracy, and the weight of history.
