Colonial Ports and Global History (CPAGH)

Colonial Ports and Global History (CPAGH), which is based and funded by The Oxford Research Centre in the Humanities (TORCH), is the first interdisciplinary network of its kind at Oxford (torch.ox.ac.uk/cpagh). We seek to bring together a wide range of researchers and practitioners across the Humanities, and to foster a publicly accessible dialogue about the opportunities and challenges of conducting research on colonial ports, and their wider implications for global history as an interdisciplinary practice. We believe that such dialogue will help to engender a more comprehensive, widely intelligible and post-Eurocentric approach to colonialism in global history, and to its enduring legacies across time and place.
