Previous studies of infectious disease outbreaks show that women are more adversely affected than men by the social and economic effects that an outbreak brings. As we move through into the post-peak phase of the COVID-19 pandemic, research is starting to emerge on the differential impact on female academics.

Following on from last year’s discussion on how we might accelerate the pace of change for gender equality at Oxford, this year’s panel will look at the impact of the pandemic on female academics, and if there is a difference by research field. The panel will also give an update on the input gathered following last year’s meeting.
