In our rapidly evolving digital world, the realms of diplomacy and peacebuilding are experiencing transformative changes, guided by advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Virtual Reality (VR), and other emerging technologies. This session will offer an insightful exploration into how these technologies are being integrated into global diplomacy efforts and peace initiatives.

We are delighted to welcome Dr. Martin Waehlisch, the head of the Innovation Team at the United Nations Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs (UN DPPA), who will share his perspectives on digital diplomacy. Dr. Waehlisch will draw upon his experiences and the innovative projects at the UN to shed light on the potential of digital tools to enhance diplomatic practices and foster international cooperation. Join us for a thoughtful discussion on the challenges and opportunities presented by digital diplomacy in the quest for global peace.
