The Oxford International Relations Society is proud to present another lecture in our Great Thinkers Lecture Series with Professor James D. Fearon, the Theodore and Francis Geballe Professor of Political Science at Stanford University. Famous for his work on topics such as the bargaining model of war, war’s inefficiency puzzle, and civil wars, Professor Fearon is one of the most influential International Relations scholars of the 21st century. According to a 2016 study, his 1995 article “Rationalist Explanations for War” is the most assigned journal article in graduate IR programs at U.S. universities. The Oxford International Relations Society is honored to join Professor Fearon on the topic of contemporary power conflict. The event will be held online, and an open Q&A will follow the talk for attendees to engage in discussion with Professor Fearon.
