Inequality

Inequality lies at the root of many of the world’s intractable challenges. From gender inequality in healthcare, through economic inequality and the persistence of poverty, to the barriers to social mobility, its effects are felt deeply and differently all over the world.

In this series, our starting point is the new Oxford Martin Programme on Inequality and Prosperity, led by Professor Brian Nolan of the Institute for New Economic Thinking at the Oxford Martin School. We have invited eight researchers from the University and beyond to present their views on issues that affect prosperity, poverty and wellbeing.

For the final event in the series, we will hold a panel discussion that draws on the lectures and widens the debate out to issues of inequality not covered by the individual events.
